YEAR 14 of the Wayton Open Tennis Tournament saw our third largest field with 217 entries across 9 divisions. Championship Sunday had a short rain delay for the first time ever but the courts quickly dried due to the heat and humidity. Year 13 saw the tournament delayed a month due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Back in March/April we didn't even know if we could hold or have enough entries to run the event. We ended up with a total of 170 entries across 6 divisions. I'm very proud of that turnout considering there is a global pandemic going on, luckily tennis is a perfect sport for social distancing. This year sort of felt like back when we were first starting out; no t-shirts, no water, no goodies, just people coming out to play some tennis for the love of the sport! We were able to raise $2020.20 for Thank Dog Rescue!
